  • Amazon
    Amazon confirms plans to open a delivery center in South Bend later this year. Located in a warehouse at Adams and Mayflower roads as part of a Great Lakes Capital business park, it is the third Amazon delivery center in Indiana.

  • Barnes & Thornburg
    Barnes & Thornburg will be moving into a planned new office building to be located at the corner of Main St. and Jefferson Blvd. which will be called “The Barnes & Thornburg Building.” The owners, River Park Leasing Corporation, broke ground and will have Barnes and Thornburg and other tenants in the building by the summer of 2021. River Park Leasing Corp will occupy the top floor of the building and hopes to have a restaurant and coffee shop in the space as well.

  • C'est La Vie Cakes
    C’est La Vie Cakes will open a storefront bakery at 1724 N. Ironwood Dr. in the former Toscana Pizza and Pasta. The boutique bakery has a large following for its made-to-order wedding cakes, and plans to begin offering.

  • Chicory Café
    Chicory Café has opened a second location in the former Columbus Club at 114 W. First St. in Mishawaka. The new space also features an event space, called Chicory Event Center.

  • Dainty Maid
    The former Dainty Maid will be transformed into a new open concept which will include a pastry shop, a breakfast restaurant, and a coffee shop. At night the space will open up to an “entertainment” space for chefs to experiment. Planned opening is in September.

  • Gio's Pancake House
    Gio’s Pancake House opened in Mishawaka at 2524 Lincolnway West. Lincolnway Café closed its doors, and Gio’s opened in their stead, offering traditional American breakfast and lunch food as well as offering Mexican dishes.

  • Half Price Books
    Half Price Books will be coming to the former Fun F/X location in Wilshire Plaza in Mishawaka. The company sells new and used books, along with movies, music, textbooks and more. An exact opening date has not been announced, but plans are to open the store by fall 2019.

  • Manjares de Mexico
    Manjares de Mexico located in the Town & Country Shopping Center formerly Mishawaka Grill has opened with a new look and menu. The menu focuses on Mexican specialties.

  • dMishawaka Farmer's Market
    Mishawaka Farmer’s Market is the new outdoor market located at Central Park. It is open from11: 00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. every Sunday through September 8, 2019 with 27 vendors participating.

  • City of South Bend & Purdue MEP
    City of South Bend and Purdue MEP received the Industry 4.0 Innovative Workforce Award, “Most Innovative Workforce Development Implementation,” for their joint project aimed at training incumbent workers from South Bend manufacturing companies.

  • South Bend-Elkhart Regional Partnership
    South Bend-Elkhart Regional Partnership and the University of Notre Dame received a $42.4 million grant from The Lily Endowment to form Labs for Industry Futures and Transformation. This initiative will bring together education, business, and economic development to the region and make it more competitive globally.

  • TCU
    TCU will acquire New Buffalo Savings Bank by the end of 2019, and it is the first bank to be brought into the credit union. TCU has thousands of members in Berrien and Cass counties, and found great success when it opened a branch in Niles.

  • Vacant Lot for ND Football
    Vacant Lot for ND Football parking may become new office building. The empty parcel on the northeast corner of Corby Blvd. and South Bend Ave. currently being used for overflow parking for football games has been approved by the South Bend common council for a zone change and construction on a 4 story mixed use building could possible begin in August 2019

  • The Lauber Kitchen & Bar
    The Lauber Kitchen & Bar is now open in the old J.C. Lauber Sheet Metal building located at 504 E. LaSalle Ave. in South Bend. The new renovation includes elements of the building’s history as a sheet metal manufacturer.
